The Iloilo City Government will give rewards to Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz for bringing pride to the Philippines.
Diaz bagged the country' first Olympic gold medal in women’s 55-kilogram class of weightlifting on Monday, July 26.
"We are giving her lifetime accommodation for Dinagyang Festival and unlimited batchoy and pancit molo," Mayor Jerry Treñas announced Wednesday, July 28.
Treñas said Diaz would surely enjor her rewards once the face-to-face celebration of Dinagyang is allowed.
The 30-year-old record holder arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday, July 28.
She is set to receive at least P40 million from the government and private companies.
A P14-million residential condominium unit, P4-million house and lot, lifetime free flights, and free fuel for life also await Diaz.IMT
