Rabiya Mateo, the Philippines’ official representative to the Miss Universe 2020 pageant, said she’s now almost 100 percent ready to compete with 70 other candidates from round the world next month.
"I would say that I’m 95% ready,” the Ilongga beauty queen said in an interview on CNN Philippines’ The Source.
But according to Mateo, “there are still a lot of things to be polished."
The 24-year-old Iloilo City beauty said she allots most of her time practicing for the question-and-answer portion of the pageant.
"You need to prepare for the hardest part of the competition. I would talk to a lot of people. That’s when I get to know something," said Mateo.
"I also read some articles online. It’s like me reviewing again for the board exam. That’s how I feel right now,” she added.
The 69th Miss Universe competition is scheduled on May 16 (May 17 in Manila) at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, USA.IMT
